Yes!! I'm back....really don't know where the last 2 months went to!! I am determined to complete my 366 Challenge with the amazing <a href="http://thekathrynwheel.blogspot.com/">Kate Crane</a> this year. I started 2 years ago and got exactly half way...crashing out at the end of June! But not this year....oh, no!! Myself, my mum and my daughter settled down on Saturday afternoon in the Craft room and now have all done our January pages!<br />
...and here is mine...<br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I am quite pleased with it ......and Bethany has even suggested we get started on February very soon!! With my track record this probably a VERY good idea!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Have done a few bits and pieces in my blog-land absence, which I will try and post in the next few days!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">It's good to be back.....I shall shortly be going for a look around all the blogs that I haven't visited for a while....but, sadly, the ironing is calling me first!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

I made the basic background with variety of blue and 'white-ish' papers and added some paint and inks for a bit more texture.<br />

First of all on Tuesday I had a clear out in the kitchen, and reluctantly threw away two cute little bottles. I have so much stuff already saved to alter that I really thought enough was enough. Of course, on Wednesday, I saw the altered bottle challenge, and a few minutes later I was to be found rummaging in my recycling bin, which was thankfully pretty full, and the bottles were retrieved!!<br />
I had great fun transforming the bottle.....I had no clear plan when I started out, it just kind of evolved as I went!!<br />
Here is the finished bottle and a few close-ups.<br />
<br />

I gave the tag the head and legs of Two Barrettes and added ribbons, twine and an '<a href="http://www.afth.co.uk/">Art From the Heart</a>' heart to the bottle top. A shrunken Marci on the lid and green coloured water completed my bottle!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

I so enjoyed doing the She Art Workshop...so much, that I now have three completed girls, and many more going round in my head!!<br />
<br />
This weeks challenge over at the Stampotique Designers Challenge is <a href="http://stampotiquedesignerschallenge.blogspot.com/">Black, White and a Hint of Colour</a>. How could I resist?? I put my She Art and post-uni-send-off cleaning aside and came up with this....<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_i-YrqHw5FXyC2n66RhyZbf7clruaR8OW2c4U_kBpRh6odfOoSl6YczMW7DDpF_e6PsofcAUO0aSeQI1-ubDHp6xoaNPkob89Lr5KGW-iEVdGtA5KQrigz-NlU4iqljyUeB9c1TvtnkM/s1600/005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_i-YrqHw5FXyC2n66RhyZbf7clruaR8OW2c4U_kBpRh6odfOoSl6YczMW7DDpF_e6PsofcAUO0aSeQI1-ubDHp6xoaNPkob89Lr5KGW-iEVdGtA5KQrigz-NlU4iqljyUeB9c1TvtnkM/s320/005.JPG" width="239" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0-iRDMc8ZayryGI2FtJJskWCl70AM1q6Q7bQxXRtceEbzbNksZJAx5W0UAecooADBFcPPEkEUlMH3isvRSdfFrCGOfHkbEnO7-CmuE7XjwjB7Vf3yJJ0yhP_pOk2ivT5l5P3vjuShBG4/s1600/006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0-iRDMc8ZayryGI2FtJJskWCl70AM1q6Q7bQxXRtceEbzbNksZJAx5W0UAecooADBFcPPEkEUlMH3isvRSdfFrCGOfHkbEnO7-CmuE7XjwjB7Vf3yJJ0yhP_pOk2ivT5l5P3vjuShBG4/s320/006.JPG" width="239" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">As you know I love Moon girl and will use her at any opportunity! She looks so thoughtful and peaceful sitting on Great Moon, that I thought the sentiment from a Wendy Vecchi stamp was perfect. The background is created with Dylusions Sky Blue Ink sprayed over a mask, and a tiny bit of glitter on the wings gave them a lovely sparkle. Proud of myself for using stamped masks too, to make a one-layer card....took a bit of thinking about the right order to stamp things, but got there in the end! I also got my sewing machine out for the first time in ages, but found doing 'wiggly' lines a bit of a challenge......in my dressmaking days I was a strictly '5/8 " girl'!!!! I like the effect though, and think I will practice a bit more!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Thanks for looking, and for your kind comments!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">xxxxx</div>Jayne Chttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14180939640378175278noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7784331798455923342.post-20739438964051975632011-09-16T14:34:00.000+01:002011-09-16T14:34:39.685+01:00Another new challenge!!!Oh, yes!!! I am getting SOOOOO brave!!! Last weekend I decided to take the plunge and sign up for a<a href="http://christytomlinson.typepad.com/christytomlinson/workshops.html"> She Art Workshop</a>. I have been thinking about it for a while, and now I have plunged into journalling, I thought there was no better time!! The tutorials from Christy are so easy to follow, that I couldn't wait to get stuck in! I'm not going to write any more....just post my photo's!<br />

I was thrilled to be a 'Designers Favourite' again last time with my journal page! My journal is now on its way to Scotland for the next lady to work in it, and I am awaiting a delivery very soon of my next one.<br />
<br />
This week the challenge over at Stampotique is <a href="http://stampotiquedesignerschallenge.blogspot.com/">A Bookmark</a> and has been set by the amazingly talented <a href="http://thekathrynwheel.blogspot.com/">Kate Crane</a>!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>Here is my offering......<span id="goog_952872688"></span><span id="goog_952872689"></span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMgX1cfvgCSRXcOPGDaTMzQOgjwhZyRvp8dN-KgrzD6uJWxE7mdkswneiTdBJJph6mnkbrTfqalcZvI_jFj8ggAtylY_r4MbQKNJ4ct3d9coGsGqLDTF7NJ85v0D3T1Qx_2Px6Dwhi-fY/s1600/028.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMgX1cfvgCSRXcOPGDaTMzQOgjwhZyRvp8dN-KgrzD6uJWxE7mdkswneiTdBJJph6mnkbrTfqalcZvI_jFj8ggAtylY_r4MbQKNJ4ct3d9coGsGqLDTF7NJ85v0D3T1Qx_2Px6Dwhi-fY/s320/028.JPG" width="239" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I tried taking photos with a variety of cameras and in a variety of places, but not one of them shows up the sheen that was on the bookmark :( I created the background using acrylic paints, then stencilled the stars using Viva metallic paint. I 'splattered' a little watery, silver paint all over and then sprayed with Glimmer Mist when the paint was dry.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I stamped Great Moon onto some card I had roughly painted silver, then cut it out. I also stamped the image directly onto the bookmark and stuck the cut out moon and star on top of this one. The owl is stamped onto white card, painted with acrylics and cut out. The sentiment is computer generated and the second owl is perched on a piece of old book paper. My usual bit of doodling was the finishing touch!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Here's a bit of a closer view...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUOi5win1phCOWBe33rpc1EfTurlcoRn5euvCKZBD4ki3jez4hqtcDubnz_LMeg1ILYFr1PaduUCVvdE7H-nc-paJmZnGQ4kGDSMoFRYRde-adWiyfHxFI_PyRjxXrneLEomByocLHS1E/s1600/029.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUOi5win1phCOWBe33rpc1EfTurlcoRn5euvCKZBD4ki3jez4hqtcDubnz_LMeg1ILYFr1PaduUCVvdE7H-nc-paJmZnGQ4kGDSMoFRYRde-adWiyfHxFI_PyRjxXrneLEomByocLHS1E/s320/029.JPG" width="239" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I then laminated the bookmark and threaded a ribbon through the top....this photo is really bad, as I knew it would be, because of the reflection from the laminate, but I hope you get the general idea!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMOwVMvCGOZx1K-hcXu0G7apl4wV-nZ912kk4FcYmFcEfgjvt_AgYpk-9SepfNcftN4gtg0-iQF0oZzbpr5fjhiEew0h8VJiSt0EAmOxVfIQMjrLuFYkH7oZ1All_1K_8Mltq1z2kBQTo/s1600/057.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMOwVMvCGOZx1K-hcXu0G7apl4wV-nZ912kk4FcYmFcEfgjvt_AgYpk-9SepfNcftN4gtg0-iQF0oZzbpr5fjhiEew0h8VJiSt0EAmOxVfIQMjrLuFYkH7oZ1All_1K_8Mltq1z2kBQTo/s320/057.JPG" width="239" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">My bookmark is already in use....although this will be temporary, as I am already the owner of a beautiful bookmark, which was a gift from my lovely friend, Helen. Here it is......and I'm sure you will see why and don't want to replace it at the moment!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

As many of you know, I have been wanting to dip my toes into the waters of 'Art Jounalling' for a while, but have never been quite brave enough! The ever lovely Kirsty Wiseman did an on-line class in June, and I thought this might be a good place for me to start....still working on this one(!)....but as a result of it I have made lots of new on-line friends and 10 of us have joined together to form a 'Circle Journal'. This has made me get my finger out and finally give art journalling a go!!<br />
As this weeks Designers Challenge over at Stampotique is <a href="http://stampotiquedesignerschallenge.blogspot.com/">Altering a Book Page</a> I have completed the first page in my journal and entered into the challenge too! Two birds...one stone, etc!!<br />

We had a lovely holiday in France, but it's taken me a while to get back into the swing of crafting...it always does! At least I did better than last year...I didn't reappear till January after my summer holiday then!! LOL!!<br />
<br />
I did do a bit of stuff whilst away. I signed up to Kirsty Wiseman's 'Me in My Moleskine' journal class, so I packed the things I needed to start on that....Bethany joined me with this venture and we had a good time working on our books together. We had a pretty major disaster with a bottle of Jade Dylusions (why is it always the Jade one??), but apart from that all was well. Ian refused to take us out for dinner that night as he said we both looked like The Jolly Green Giant/ Shrek/ Princess Fiona .......you're getting the general idea?? That was fine by me, as he was doing all the cooking anyway!!! (The 8lb weight gain was a downside to that!!) Hopefully our little journals will be completed soon and I will share them with you then.<br />
<br />
Last Friday I joined friends, old and new at the 'Ladies Who Lunch' Play Day in Sheffield. It was great to see people again and we had a great time in the morning following Ann's (<a href="http://flutterbycrafter.blogspot.com/">Flutterby Crafter</a>) instructions to make bobbins...not quite finished this yet, it needs further embellishment, but it was fun to do...hardly any swearing at all!!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgSvgzvFAIwY9qEXNIglkAG5XBSpjDmmGzBEyp_hCO2Rj8uvPeDZDoZ8wpGT6jWqsptOUS6gIlG04kv17uak-jobFDh7X18SExuPKmGBR5BWSEdxG4UuSGz056xwJoAYNXvu9oR7n7FTQ/s1600/164.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgSvgzvFAIwY9qEXNIglkAG5XBSpjDmmGzBEyp_hCO2Rj8uvPeDZDoZ8wpGT6jWqsptOUS6gIlG04kv17uak-jobFDh7X18SExuPKmGBR5BWSEdxG4UuSGz056xwJoAYNXvu9oR7n7FTQ/s320/164.JPG" width="239" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">After lunch another Anne (<a href="http://liverpoollou.blogspot.com/">Liverpool Lou</a>) showed us how to make a concertina box file using the cover from an old hard-backed book. I have to say there was plenty of swearing this time , as fitting the folded card together was a little fiddly to say the least!! I have finished this one, and am absolutely delighted with it....</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

So glad I managed it.......the theme has been set by Valerie and is 'Use Up Your Scraps'.<br />
<br />
Now I am a scrap-saver extraordinaire...when I first started paper crafting I kept the tiniest of offcuts...'just in case'!! However, I like new sheets of paper and am REALLY bad at using up scraps, even though I'm very good at collecting them!! So this challenge made me think a little...I spread some bits and pieces out to see what I had...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdpa0h9UvCR9h7bWxQa2UNvr_HJzx9bEyZSqE7r2WSZvxwHUN7k0PpHqqJLIQdGLnAxXusMGQfghh4TF5X7AfONcU2gmLx4V7DYqMVvMlsxlXfPzQCNeQ_6_vNbLemuX0dMPK8YF7Bn-c/s1600/011.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdpa0h9UvCR9h7bWxQa2UNvr_HJzx9bEyZSqE7r2WSZvxwHUN7k0PpHqqJLIQdGLnAxXusMGQfghh4TF5X7AfONcU2gmLx4V7DYqMVvMlsxlXfPzQCNeQ_6_vNbLemuX0dMPK8YF7Bn-c/s320/011.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">...and decided there must be SOMETHING useful amongst it!! Then I got my favourite box of stamps out (HONESTLY, it is!!) and that had lots or pre-stamped figures in it.... so they are sort of scraps, right??</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2U7lx-677asQbzo7RX0uejUdjN7VOwqEVvDjXkAFfgSjgc5OM1UWOS_Dn43T-2VPRdoza9k7NwYaoVbaKUXs84LelvF-qHoavU6tMpPJC-W5jiuE2Oa4rxKPgVbONObbzPMETZ1rj_YU/s1600/013.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2U7lx-677asQbzo7RX0uejUdjN7VOwqEVvDjXkAFfgSjgc5OM1UWOS_Dn43T-2VPRdoza9k7NwYaoVbaKUXs84LelvF-qHoavU6tMpPJC-W5jiuE2Oa4rxKPgVbONObbzPMETZ1rj_YU/s320/013.JPG" width="239" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I found a piece of paper that I'd hacked a flower off at some time and cut out the rest to make a border (forgot to take 'before' photo, but you get the idea?</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjk_JBktUlx9nQuDOhkAHbNYNqoweaqDbNIKqyTkefJxQC6LcDUjs2KCL0QHHzOMFe70bowVzx8Twy2s0BzEcrIpO6SfjyOSiWvNwB40pMNpp09iolOZvviFpBfshIhAqr-tdMOnaQb2ko/s1600/011.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjk_JBktUlx9nQuDOhkAHbNYNqoweaqDbNIKqyTkefJxQC6LcDUjs2KCL0QHHzOMFe70bowVzx8Twy2s0BzEcrIpO6SfjyOSiWvNwB40pMNpp09iolOZvviFpBfshIhAqr-tdMOnaQb2ko/s320/011.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I then found a piece of old book paper which had been previously sprayed with yellowy, orange inks and noticed that the words were rather appropriate to be made into a bright sunshine!!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-TTnc6b0_1ZSqQeUC-hXTaAHlB3BAk3O2l1zvm-NpQJM2uXJ7xrb7kBLko4mHknUbMhV4xblYG34pb-3moqaw65s2EqJ_4cL3zbQLp33CzmFW64zPKdC3Xn4_KqRCfa6Cv9_3RMQQwhA/s1600/013.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-TTnc6b0_1ZSqQeUC-hXTaAHlB3BAk3O2l1zvm-NpQJM2uXJ7xrb7kBLko4mHknUbMhV4xblYG34pb-3moqaw65s2EqJ_4cL3zbQLp33CzmFW64zPKdC3Xn4_KqRCfa6Cv9_3RMQQwhA/s320/013.JPG" width="239" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I chose images of Head and Olivia and when I placed them on the card they looked like they may have been enjoying a game of 'Hide & seek' in the tall flowers, so I found some apt words in an old dictionary!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOWWsjg8-5GGv-nY3s_Kjh-kluLcDq2RSOilz8JZkvIaK6UIxMW_wM9KvMJQO-g7YsTKXrn4CjxLm5ZZcZdnD_NNEdbQbEkmACR7BwmO0WiG8idzrRb13-VtO6tn_tp4L7v0Bd9hugLv8/s1600/014.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOWWsjg8-5GGv-nY3s_Kjh-kluLcDq2RSOilz8JZkvIaK6UIxMW_wM9KvMJQO-g7YsTKXrn4CjxLm5ZZcZdnD_NNEdbQbEkmACR7BwmO0WiG8idzrRb13-VtO6tn_tp4L7v0Bd9hugLv8/s320/014.JPG" width="239" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"> A bit of doodling (you know I can never resist!) completed my card.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">When I showed it to Bethany she said, "It's lovely, but it doesn't really look like you used scraps!" I think I may have been a little grumpy when I assured her that I had!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Hope you like it too....off now to complete preps for a small family gathering we are holding tomorrow to celebrate my lovely parents Emerald (55th) Wedding Anniversary!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

If I'd put my mind to it I probably could have done more, but...hey, they'll have to be a separate post!!<br />
Anyway over on <a href="http://pinkleart.blogspot.com/2011/06/sunday-stamper-week-159-all-around-my.html">The Sunday Stamper</a> the theme is Hats and on <a href="http://gingersnapcreations.blogspot.com/2011/06/gc108-color-challenge-color-of-money.html">Gingersnap Creations</a> the colour challenge theme is The Colour of Money. Here is my entry.....which I think satisfies both lots of requirements!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8ggV3qCk0sjMLoEGjEoQ6jOUYOG_OQ6Y_WN5hsG6JmdWMsE-A-Wtz0y-hcIkQGTsckZlGWnkpqBfFYtorwSjFuqykCFZ4ImabErkc7CKdjSxAp9ii1Qe28vsDIUs5wShElE87LHr5j88/s1600/015.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8ggV3qCk0sjMLoEGjEoQ6jOUYOG_OQ6Y_WN5hsG6JmdWMsE-A-Wtz0y-hcIkQGTsckZlGWnkpqBfFYtorwSjFuqykCFZ4ImabErkc7CKdjSxAp9ii1Qe28vsDIUs5wShElE87LHr5j88/s320/015.JPG" width="239" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I opted for a purple theme to link in nicely with all those crisp £20 notes I was supposed to win on the lottery last night!!! (They pulled the wrong numbers out...AGAIN!). I created the background using acrylic paints and some spray inks, then distressed the edge and inked it with Dusty Concorde DI. I stamped Stampotique's Twinkie onto white card, cut him out and painted him with acrylics. The hat is a Dylusions stamp stamped onto some glossy card coloured with StazOn which I found in my off-cuts box. I finished off with a definition of 'hat' from an old dictionary, a computer generated quote....and a rather large bow!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Thanks for looking and for leaving a comment...they really make my day!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

The challenge this week has been set by Joanne Wardle and is 'Clean and Simple'. I'd been having a bit of a sub-conscious think about what I could do, but have never been inspired by making the bed before!!! First time for everything, I suppose!! Anyway, here's the cushion that started it all....<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvk_oNSW8cvXeZwVYc4y6zHo-QGclM7ghvKk-6Kaip2fwJnFbCFXx3rPUyiF-rsJPUbSb_nE5mfgh0SLMAVmj6gMEN_7lPrn9cZ3xjbijyFdPGXtizwv0vV6AGqFQwOlbjOacpkINYb7s/s1600/042.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvk_oNSW8cvXeZwVYc4y6zHo-QGclM7ghvKk-6Kaip2fwJnFbCFXx3rPUyiF-rsJPUbSb_nE5mfgh0SLMAVmj6gMEN_7lPrn9cZ3xjbijyFdPGXtizwv0vV6AGqFQwOlbjOacpkINYb7s/s320/042.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">.....and here is my 'clean and simple' creation!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I started by stamping Kitty onto white card, then masked her and stamped Daisy Daisy over the top. I added a touch of colour to the flowers and grass with Dylusions spray inks. I finished off with the typed sentiment and, of course, a touch of doodling!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Couldn't finish without letting you see the REAL inspiration.....</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

But I did tell you I'd be back sooner than you thought!!! I made this tag on Saturday as well as my pen pot, but as they were for two separate challenges, they needed their own blog entries! So this one is for the <a href="http://stampotiquedesignerschallenge.blogspot.com/">Stampotique Designers Challenge 31: Acetate</a>.<br />
The challenge was to create a project using acetate and Stampotique only stamps. The second part was easy, but I'm not a huge acetate fan....anyway, have to say, I quite enjoyed it!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgS3ddPv_X8vofA0LOgO4jtByTrrBei7omS5aMGEVCaWR1bZDAPOnSr2jKjYtYWY03z4OdAdEaqE_iwaqUiN_SrIOWSmO08XIWaZcS4O63lKZV72BR4cfxsmrbLs1XBFMdgqJIIlTb2iqc/s1600/015.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgS3ddPv_X8vofA0LOgO4jtByTrrBei7omS5aMGEVCaWR1bZDAPOnSr2jKjYtYWY03z4OdAdEaqE_iwaqUiN_SrIOWSmO08XIWaZcS4O63lKZV72BR4cfxsmrbLs1XBFMdgqJIIlTb2iqc/s320/015.JPG" width="239" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I started by cutting a tag using the Tim Holtz die with the 'Dream' inlay and coloured this with Broken China Distress Ink. The stars were made using a template and Wild Honey DI. I finished off by inking the edges with Black Soot and a bit of doodling (naturally!). I used the Tiny Star from Text stars to randomly stamp over the whole tag. The lovely Moon Girl is stamped onto an acetate tag...and this is where I discovered that acetate was so useful!! I had wanted her to sit on something, but the right way round she just didn't look right on the star....but when I flipped the acetate over to colour her heart I realised she fitted perfectly the other way round...RESULT!!! I stamped three Text Stars onto white card...one is on the original tag and is Moon Girls perch and the other two are stuck onto the acetate.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTvyxi-n1RtvYGPPtJHF0mwwqwooKwhU7GO1AITjJpTGBw6dV2qTmrjU5eor9XblhB0YiSGQqwNiAZDI6rgO4FRZ11tMhKCKQ5UKWNFls0FKBjtnVoP00kDc-iAqsowCTIX7U79xrCcOU/s1600/009.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTvyxi-n1RtvYGPPtJHF0mwwqwooKwhU7GO1AITjJpTGBw6dV2qTmrjU5eor9XblhB0YiSGQqwNiAZDI6rgO4FRZ11tMhKCKQ5UKWNFls0FKBjtnVoP00kDc-iAqsowCTIX7U79xrCcOU/s320/009.JPG" width="239" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">.....the acetate 'bit'!</td></tr>
</tbody></table><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I still had a bit of a gap on the right hand side and Moon Girl looks so 'dreamy' that I thought the 'Dream a little dream' words were just right!! I finished by tying the two tags together and sticking some black card behind the open word.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Hope you like......</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

I had a lovely long weekend in Scotland with hubby, who was taking part in a charity cycle....and have spent some time assisting mum with the garden, in between the horrendous weather!!<br />
When I have taken a crafting break I find it quite hard to 'get going' again, so I had a look for some likely challenges to get me up and running, and found this one at <a href="http://theplaydatecafe.blogspot.com/">The Play Date Cafe</a>. Their Challenge 83 is another 'Splash of Colour' one, and I love these, so it was a good place to start! Black and white, with a splash of green...<br />
On our recent trip to London mum bought these chocolates for Ian and Sam, and the tubes looked just too useful to throw away...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwj009wrd3BxD7NYsWFoFsEU6yNzNBo37ONlpi6ptRxy0mfBhrNpIr7pJtg-LShc8eNZqA2rkpT6zX-pC2mAlA1X-I3_0av0c3hvMufOMIuDpkFaTpMG6xSO_SsFH9DxT7Tj9c0z2CXJ4/s1600/004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwj009wrd3BxD7NYsWFoFsEU6yNzNBo37ONlpi6ptRxy0mfBhrNpIr7pJtg-LShc8eNZqA2rkpT6zX-pC2mAlA1X-I3_0av0c3hvMufOMIuDpkFaTpMG6xSO_SsFH9DxT7Tj9c0z2CXJ4/s320/004.JPG" width="239" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">...so I decided to turn it into 'something useful'!! Here is my finished pen pot....complete with the required black, white and green!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiz4t_tuWaZJDKm-DqE30SOe2RPSEn4ElOnpwRnP3e2FRblJha2EuzkvEDVN9lvpqWIBeaZKfrWF2a5NcNQpZ-AT6KALhVE0oOdZHRjrDXyuT_UXWSo_9fgwoatnrwzVJutGwCkWRh9rD4/s1600/016.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiz4t_tuWaZJDKm-DqE30SOe2RPSEn4ElOnpwRnP3e2FRblJha2EuzkvEDVN9lvpqWIBeaZKfrWF2a5NcNQpZ-AT6KALhVE0oOdZHRjrDXyuT_UXWSo_9fgwoatnrwzVJutGwCkWRh9rD4/s320/016.JPG" width="239" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I covered the tube with Doodlebug Black Paisley paper. then added some green bunting using offcuts. I love Stampotique's Spider Girl and she has lovely stripey legs which were just asking to become green. I coloured them with water colour pencils. Her little sign is computer generated...and I finished with an extra 'splash' in the form of green ribbon!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Thanks for looking.....and I'll be back (even sooner than you think!!)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

Was nice to catch up with friends I've not seen for a while and we made three fabulous canvasses. Everyone at home was amazed that I had done all that in 5 hours...and had time for lunch!! There was time for plenty of laughing and talking too, but I've not mentioned that!!!<br />
First of all we made our canvas 'in the style of Tim Holtz'.....<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjg0KVF0CCidVr7NokMTJ1UboVEQHiuHTe7hwes-WuckQHsG4MBT5xdYq_1Vgt-cJqcTRLt-UT1xuIJvBsTdj00x0i6Cd4BOIByfxKhUwHHBUJpaCkYF-pQoiSND8Asw7EJymu2_4iyEdA/s1600/038.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjg0KVF0CCidVr7NokMTJ1UboVEQHiuHTe7hwes-WuckQHsG4MBT5xdYq_1Vgt-cJqcTRLt-UT1xuIJvBsTdj00x0i6Cd4BOIByfxKhUwHHBUJpaCkYF-pQoiSND8Asw7EJymu2_4iyEdA/s320/038.JPG" width="239" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">We used the new Kraft resist paper, which was great...I resisted (pardon the pun!) the urge to buy some, then regretted it as soon as I got home!! Oh, well...an excuse for another visit soon!!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The next one was 'in the style of Claudine Helmuth' and looks deceptively easy!! We had more problems with this one than the other two put together...I think poor Dyan came pretty close to tearing her hair out!!! That woman has the patience of a Saint!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIeu0ErZzfDer4vDg4rP55r1vOf66nuTWA9EXIoX92hckh8NPGT7FMTAPTLPnL7cDxuu3z9cRMm7TO0EXCczYckpuOexG1cerEwP18ISq7ZSH_IngD34jCMWkgF2OxvakpmnbI5Qh5B_s/s1600/033.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIeu0ErZzfDer4vDg4rP55r1vOf66nuTWA9EXIoX92hckh8NPGT7FMTAPTLPnL7cDxuu3z9cRMm7TO0EXCczYckpuOexG1cerEwP18ISq7ZSH_IngD34jCMWkgF2OxvakpmnbI5Qh5B_s/s320/033.JPG" width="239" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">...and finally we made one 'in the style of Dyan'...this one was nice and relaxing after the previous one!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGtYaOZivMJSmfMP_6_EGXdH4iyaIRznDCQtDnwgJ8rj2mYKU-q_La2FwF4wXf6skMBULhSXbxs_br4U00_519HWNE5nduD-inW1Tc3uKem3gDLxnreyqwYmotdYrXjsolClCCFNa-vKM/s1600/030.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGtYaOZivMJSmfMP_6_EGXdH4iyaIRznDCQtDnwgJ8rj2mYKU-q_La2FwF4wXf6skMBULhSXbxs_br4U00_519HWNE5nduD-inW1Tc3uKem3gDLxnreyqwYmotdYrXjsolClCCFNa-vKM/s320/030.JPG" width="239" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">This class followed the brilliant day I had with mum on Tuesday. We went off to London to have afternoon tea at The Ritz!! Here's mum waiting to go into the Palm Court..</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

The<a href="http://stampotiquedesignerschallenge.blogspot.com/2011/04/sdc29-sketch.html"> Stampotique Designers Challenge 29</a> is Sketch. I wasn't too sure about this one at first,as I've never used a sketch before, but decided to give it a go anyway. I'm really glad I did as I'm quite pleased with my finished card!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeBoHPiiRU5IZrerrQTKTuVwg5XA-H5xvL2AUYvq1JXVbP-up7IEjuODpZV9GW9jZcTP_Ax-Sq4Rpv0Ms7p6kLVZiYLUDGR832LIqZnu3r09eFPXzqXxnzkV8p5XsCstIvkbGWP23DKpQ/s1600/030.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeBoHPiiRU5IZrerrQTKTuVwg5XA-H5xvL2AUYvq1JXVbP-up7IEjuODpZV9GW9jZcTP_Ax-Sq4Rpv0Ms7p6kLVZiYLUDGR832LIqZnu3r09eFPXzqXxnzkV8p5XsCstIvkbGWP23DKpQ/s320/030.JPG" width="239" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">It is a Stampotique only challenge, so I chose the lovely Olivia as my main focus. Her head looked just in need of a pretty hat and so she chose Carol's Flower for the purpose! I don't think she would have looked out of place at the Royal Wedding wearing that!!! ........Philip Treacy eat your heart out!!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The papers are from the Sweet Branch Collection by Crate, and Olivia herself is coloured using Distress Inks. A bit of doodling and a 'tongue-in-cheek' sentiment completed my card...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Thanks for looking!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

I bought mum a Configuration Box when I went to ArtsyCrafts in February and she was keen to have a go at covering it, but was also convinced it was beyond her...not at all!!<br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">At the other table in our craft room was Bethany who asked if I could show her how to make a canvas. With pleasure.....</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">She started off by spraying Dylusions Ink Sprays though a variety of masks, then adding a few dribbles and drizzles and some black & white highlights!! T'was already looking good!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">After drying it off (action shot....and check out those eyelashes!!) it was time for some stamping. She chose a couple of Stampotique stamps....Fab Moth which was stamped onto card and coloured with Distress Inks, and Bird in Cage stamped onto ink sprayed canvas and coloured with more Dylusions.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The words are from one of her favourite songs by Frank Turner (also a favourite of hers, although I have no idea what he sounds like!!). These were printed, cut, stuck on, then edged with black pen and coloured with oil pastels. She wanted the bird cage to hang so with a bit of trial and error, we managed that too!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Here is the finished piece....I think it's just FAB!!! She did so well, and is now keen to do some more.....so watch this space!!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

So here is my offering for <a href="http://stampotiquedesignerschallenge.blogspot.com/2011/04/sdc28-newsprintold-book-pages.html">SDC Challenge 28: Newsprint/Old Book Pages</a>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4tRuke-Q6OIU_z9rtANVUX4VtsBSsUnXUWnVFIHIm4kTtEv0Gdo25om7o-0zIhJgKs2EXA75DRH250L3hjstAUR5iXem3nhX5fnR2BYReq7mVhzyI4VBQFcfWnbbu1IoK430c9JRYqUA/s1600/031.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4tRuke-Q6OIU_z9rtANVUX4VtsBSsUnXUWnVFIHIm4kTtEv0Gdo25om7o-0zIhJgKs2EXA75DRH250L3hjstAUR5iXem3nhX5fnR2BYReq7mVhzyI4VBQFcfWnbbu1IoK430c9JRYqUA/s320/031.JPG" width="238" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I sprayed a canvas with Dylusions Spray inks, then added some black and white highlights and a touch of Viva Precious Metal in Blue Azure and Mother of Pearl. The birdcage stamp is PaperArtsy, as are the flower and cage dies. I cut these using old book pages, lightly tinted with Distress Inks. The quote is taken from one of my newly purchased anthologies (what a great word, that is!!). I printed this on the computer, then edged with oil pastels when I'd stuck it down...and VOILA!!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Hope you like...and thanks for looking!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">xx</div>Jayne Chttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14180939640378175278noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7784331798455923342.post-5664410305693137622011-04-11T16:40:00.001+01:002011-04-11T16:45:06.803+01:00Stampotique Triptych Challenge....<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>To be honest, I never thought my attempt at a triptych card for the <a href="http://stampotiquedesignerschallenge.blogspot.com/">Stampotique Designer's Challenge 27</a> would ever make it my blog...I seem to have been making it for ever, and felt sure I must have run out of time...but I do believe, I've just made it in the nick of time!! PHEWWWW!!<br />
<div><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjr7XqkD_rJPp8EwLcZe9kSswqSoAUSyrzhKXmgzA3Tc5rz7Ufp4-tQIDDsHj3ifBL0Bn4BQ2LhRSiyNpn0Km21haIknqwZeUmCy-_cuEK3TYyj8b6jVrtQHswQQgVgSOkN_-Dibq0UW6A/s1600/012.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjr7XqkD_rJPp8EwLcZe9kSswqSoAUSyrzhKXmgzA3Tc5rz7Ufp4-tQIDDsHj3ifBL0Bn4BQ2LhRSiyNpn0Km21haIknqwZeUmCy-_cuEK3TYyj8b6jVrtQHswQQgVgSOkN_-Dibq0UW6A/s320/012.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div><br />
<div><br />
</div><div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div><div>I started off by folding and cutting a piece of A4 card, then creating a background using acrylic paints in shades of yellow, blue and green on both sides of the card. I stamped with Daisy Daisy along the bottom edge of both sides. I stamped Row Houses onto old book paper and also onto white card, then coloured the card centre house with Distress Inks, cut it out and stuck it back in its correct position on the paper row. </div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div style="text-align: left;">At this point I had 2 songs going round in my head.. both 'Our House', one by Crosby Stills & Nash (Our house is a very very very fine house, with 2 cats in the yard) and the other by Madness. Whilst I love the first one, the stamp seemed to lend itself to the lyrics of the second better, so that was the one I chose. However my house did end up with 'one cat in the yard' in the form of Kitty!! The little fence in front of the house is a <a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/donna67">Collage Anonymous</a> download.</div></div></div></div></div></div><div><br />
</div><div><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLGQU7DtfHMRLnIc_dvrlMEYP9caxs6b8tIJOJTvqygPofXr8kwcocHyHh2ua7dA5UT6gPtbOCbUKlXzf28h24pEI4MLjZgqSWGk48HH9aVjVadVYreFCTk7ZiqcxYGc8nyBalT45DEd0/s1600/002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLGQU7DtfHMRLnIc_dvrlMEYP9caxs6b8tIJOJTvqygPofXr8kwcocHyHh2ua7dA5UT6gPtbOCbUKlXzf28h24pEI4MLjZgqSWGk48HH9aVjVadVYreFCTk7ZiqcxYGc8nyBalT45DEd0/s320/002.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">For the front, I stamped Welcome Door onto card, coloured it with DI's again and cut and mounted it onto the triptych.<i> </i>I completed the 'Welcome' phrase on the door with a few more words printed on the computer and edged with a fine black pen. I thought someone needed to be making the statement, and Two Sticks seemed to fit the bill perfectly!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I also decided to pop them outside their house on the inside too!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLo-l-cIdVn0nhyHuGa1Ar6wAFAzKhhTQcpadinaTE8uKXUVifOjnqA6fsHIKNCASUYjzYU2TOHg4pxF5AxSL9pZTPdY9Uer075nZX0kWQ3-XhxY3da_L2_O-uZLGoafwoeWr59H4Wfro/s1600/004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLo-l-cIdVn0nhyHuGa1Ar6wAFAzKhhTQcpadinaTE8uKXUVifOjnqA6fsHIKNCASUYjzYU2TOHg4pxF5AxSL9pZTPdY9Uer075nZX0kWQ3-XhxY3da_L2_O-uZLGoafwoeWr59H4Wfro/s320/004.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I think they'd definitely have to 'duck' to fit inside!!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">My mum has commented that my work never looks as vibrant on the blog as it does in reality. I think this is true of all of our work, but generally I tend to use my phone to take my photos, so this time I have actually used a camera, and taken advantage of the recent good weather and used natural daylight. I think they are a little better.....</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Thanks for looking!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

Obviously I couldn't blog these as I didn't want the recipients to get any sneaky peeks...but here they are now!<br />
On Saturday it was our 23rd Wedding Anniversary...we had a lovely day & overnight in Chester, and thanks to my lovely hubby I am now the owner of a Pandora bracelet :) We went to 'Appy Feet' and had our feet nibbled by little fishies...a strange, yet very pleasant experience!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-YZlkKsI1HdnmJVyNGlODsh0Ss-wG1qbRocg8FCnzvI512gdJxr_yj4Dw-iAO7D4W3m_uv13XG7eLKYEjBFqQPtQ1LW6lA7ydj5qX__xx9h1Ckqb325vyCVVr2w8sKcpjbeok4XruZ4s/s1600/208213_10150153444242480_745337479_6553210_2319494_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-YZlkKsI1HdnmJVyNGlODsh0Ss-wG1qbRocg8FCnzvI512gdJxr_yj4Dw-iAO7D4W3m_uv13XG7eLKYEjBFqQPtQ1LW6lA7ydj5qX__xx9h1Ckqb325vyCVVr2w8sKcpjbeok4XruZ4s/s320/208213_10150153444242480_745337479_6553210_2319494_n.jpg" width="238" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">...And here is the card I made for the man himself....</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBuxV_FEKBiL6GouM4MjIDGEuXc5Z_FNMws3w7dOWE4Lu4nrKFq6bmlGzoWQocR6wJ3TXr1152ysRe4B_3gCtbB3S4NEatfbJ-yCcdUgxjY46Dz_ZeHLCXlZ4JhHn0LH3z1HunRekfBRU/s1600/009.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBuxV_FEKBiL6GouM4MjIDGEuXc5Z_FNMws3w7dOWE4Lu4nrKFq6bmlGzoWQocR6wJ3TXr1152ysRe4B_3gCtbB3S4NEatfbJ-yCcdUgxjY46Dz_ZeHLCXlZ4JhHn0LH3z1HunRekfBRU/s320/009.JPG" width="239" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">It's very plain, but I love it for its simplicity! The bird image is Stampin' Up, the writing is all computer generated and the bunting is hand cut from printed paper, then doodled round. Simples!!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Next up was Mother's Day...obviously we weren't at home in the morning, so Mum had to wait a little while for her card and pressie...she said it was worth the wait...so that was the main thing!! Here's the card...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgr1myj2r4YEYB0VmXV9v3vqTkE2G2Wq3ScTmMqFrSXp1I9zsUfZBa4T8G9a9Hb0O1VztIApDfIsqqpHBQW1iVU90TSJWdAbjGxMVoZyXmKaG6H2AkIN5JovwBxNa4ri4X1QB7pinDY1jM/s1600/006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgr1myj2r4YEYB0VmXV9v3vqTkE2G2Wq3ScTmMqFrSXp1I9zsUfZBa4T8G9a9Hb0O1VztIApDfIsqqpHBQW1iVU90TSJWdAbjGxMVoZyXmKaG6H2AkIN5JovwBxNa4ri4X1QB7pinDY1jM/s320/006.JPG" width="239" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I created the background using a variety of acrylic paints and ink sprays on watercolour paper. I then stamped the small butterflies (Stampin' Up, again!) onto this and stamped further, larger butterflies onto some offcuts. The words are, once again computer generated. Here's a close up...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The antennae took me longer to make than the rest of the card!!! I threaded seed beads onto very fine florists wire and attached to the back of each butterfly with red line tape. The butterflies are attatched with foam pads on one wing to give a little dimension. I had a spare butterfly left over, so decided to use it to make an insert for the card..</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>Thought I would share a 'Thank you' card with you today! I made it for my cousin, who very kindly had me to 'stay-over' whilst Bethany was in hospital. She only lives about 20 minutes from the hospital, so it was much easier than driving backwards and forwards every day. She has 2 lovely spaniels, Charlie and Millie, so I wanted to make sure that that was a feature of the card....and I just love this house stamp and will use it any excuse!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhervtm9ctsMtojjpliGCkhs_xMqVzk9ztHYPUXKb80s9ji17xvvmViYM96jvGQU60TPm2g4Ts_6UTmDBMjIv7Rctv_UfKos0pr1cz6kOeN3gtjOA6-2nk1V0xkKwzyzFxb-anfjaKqQt4/s1600/078.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhervtm9ctsMtojjpliGCkhs_xMqVzk9ztHYPUXKb80s9ji17xvvmViYM96jvGQU60TPm2g4Ts_6UTmDBMjIv7Rctv_UfKos0pr1cz6kOeN3gtjOA6-2nk1V0xkKwzyzFxb-anfjaKqQt4/s320/078.JPG" width="239" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoG28MTrKNqhxmrqJJ5wFAaZvKLmva3lc0Z6OW-IruykoIUrDxRCotReSBT97InJRZoYNIc6D7v6s8fAxMIGa52LFhgLSU6Qt3CFd2SqG-Qeheu9CyfZ3QZNQyny0w4tr6qKZfx7kcKDA/s1600/080.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoG28MTrKNqhxmrqJJ5wFAaZvKLmva3lc0Z6OW-IruykoIUrDxRCotReSBT97InJRZoYNIc6D7v6s8fAxMIGa52LFhgLSU6Qt3CFd2SqG-Qeheu9CyfZ3QZNQyny0w4tr6qKZfx7kcKDA/s320/080.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I stamped the houses onto old book paper, then again onto white card. I coloured the latter with DI's, cut out and stuck them onto the other image. The letters are cut from a Sizzix die, and my finishing touch was the little spaniel charm, which I, unbelievably, found in my stash! She was delighted to receive the card...so a result all round!</div><br />
Bye for now xxJayne Chttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14180939640378175278noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7784331798455923342.post-68833242255059800482011-03-19T12:40:00.000+00:002011-03-19T12:40:40.418+00:00Hey!!! Remember me????Well, hello!! Finally made it back after a hectic three weeks! Bethany is more or less recovered and was delivered back to Sheffield on Tuesday, so now I can back to 'me things'!!<br />
I have, at last, found time to finish my wonderful Tim Holtz Configuration Box....and it is now ready to share with you. What a FANTASTIC day I had...I met lovely people, made wonderful things, and generally had a ball!!! <br />
My day started with registration at 8am, followed by a spot of shopping!! This was a first....not the shopping, but doing craft shopping at that hour in the morning!! Unfortunately the shop was FAR busier than Tesco is at a similar hour, but I struggled on!!! :)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div>Next it was off to the classroom where Tim was waiting for us, along with a fab pile of goodies for us to create with.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgP_oitQEJcqFV_6APrXevVcb-LW9sUWgNfVRk8dr4CZy6CP7R4PB77N7t5tA6krjcs6XoLwBgralR3YMwfl_exd_X7EuwrjHCkesx_DZ39W_r-swHwyZO1EUN7jSj9n1FqJuGASEnP58U/s1600/029.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgP_oitQEJcqFV_6APrXevVcb-LW9sUWgNfVRk8dr4CZy6CP7R4PB77N7t5tA6krjcs6XoLwBgralR3YMwfl_exd_X7EuwrjHCkesx_DZ39W_r-swHwyZO1EUN7jSj9n1FqJuGASEnP58U/s320/029.JPG" width="239" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">All our papers had been cut to size and scored, so all we had to do was snip out the corners, fold, and pop into the appropriate box, and VOILA!! In hardly any time at all we were already this far along!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">With tissue tape added it was time for a coffee break....</div><br />

Well that was me this week!!! Ian was away in Florida (...on business allegedly!!) so I decided I'd have a really crafty few days. I went blog hopping and wrote a list of challenges of all the things I felt I could tackle. I even NEARLY completed the one for Play Date Cafe...it just needed a few finishing touches.....then...I got THE PHONE CALL!!!<br />
It went a bit like this...... "Hi Mum...thought I'd let you know...just been to the walk-in centre and they think I may have appendicitis so I'm on my way to hospital"...yes, it was Bethany...in Sheffield! Not that far away in reality, but FAR TOO FAR for my liking!!<br />
<br />
Well to cut a long story short I spent from Friday to Sunday travelling between Manchester and Sheffield to 'the sickbed'. On Sunday I got a grip and realised I really needed to stay over there!! After many tests it was decided that it was indeed the appendix causing the problem, and it was whipped out! I was able to bring her home on Tuesday evening...much to my relief! She is still in quite a lot of pain..and has a wonderful battle scar...mum is convinced they used Glossy accents to glue her back together again...whatever happened to good old-fashioned stitches?? She said to me a couple of weeks ago that she would like to come home for Sam's birthday (yesterday) but I have to say I think these were very extreme measures to take!!<br />
Talking of Sam's birthday...here is his card..<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhI1mZPmo5WsKo94-a1R6u3uFEdQE96KFCVjp9xROcAibjWqn9_8X4dyQ1SJUxxUNOuv6Bt29_pz0qXyBx-8oCpliq8oIXlbF6rDSzzL3WMnFPt79PmKbEL5cHGiQi6eNQje2uqM4uyyro/s1600/IMG_0214.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhI1mZPmo5WsKo94-a1R6u3uFEdQE96KFCVjp9xROcAibjWqn9_8X4dyQ1SJUxxUNOuv6Bt29_pz0qXyBx-8oCpliq8oIXlbF6rDSzzL3WMnFPt79PmKbEL5cHGiQi6eNQje2uqM4uyyro/s320/IMG_0214.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I coloured some old book pages with various DI's. The bird stamp is a 'freebie' from <a href="http://www.craftstamper.com/">Craft Stamper</a> but I felt he needed longer legs....just like Sam (17, and 6'3"!!)...so I drew them on. The bird is also coloured with DI's.</div><br />

She is in the VERY CAPABLE hands of my wonderful mum, who has taken over nursing duties in my absence, and I know she will be more than well looked after!! So...onwards and upwards...I am going to have a ball.....and will be displaying my production VERY soon!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Bye for now...I really need an early night.....!!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

I haven't actually handed it over yet....but I think the chances of it being viewed on here now are so remote, I've decided to post it!!<br />
I think I like this card more than any other I've ever made....I don't know why...I just do!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSMfaL_VcXXSd5LH1EAezKZA0nwFEbo0LihGWkLXoYpbRZ2bW7OByQuusGp1gC-CRffDvbgxMAqVTc7l5h2Dpv7iiZeoKNZJMzxMyaaUmQclwxvItrmtT_3UMJY70QQiE-bs13jd3Qoqs/s320/019.JPG" width="239" /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I made the background paper by randomly 'splatting' Adirondack Dabbers and Dylusion Ink Sprays. I then sprayed more ink over the heart mask. When I cut my paper to fit on the card base I made a mistake and cut on a marking that actually wasn't there, so my paper ended up too small...really must get my eyes tested!!......I decided to print my message onto white card to fill the gap, and actually REALLY like the effect I got, so it turned out to be a 'happy mistake' and a technique I shall use again :) The heart is hand cut from patterned paper and mounted onto white card. I added some doodled lines and stitches. The characters are, of course, Stampotique. I left them black and white and just highlighted their hearts with some Fired Brick DI. To finish off I added a tiny tag to the flower the girl is holding, and some heart sequins to the message at the top!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I have decided that it fits the bill for the <a href="http://stampotiquedesignerschallenge.blogspot.com/">Stampotique Designers Challenge 24</a>, so am entering it there!! I know....getting braver by the week!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Back with the birthday cards in a few days!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />
